Well it looks like that Jacob fizzled out on us. That's OK, we'll solve this mystery yet. I'm not giving up. I did get a copy of the "Turff and Twiggs" book with the map. Couln't resist it. In one of your previous memos you mentioned Charles as having one son. Do you know his name? Was he born later in life to Charles. As you said Charles was mentioned as godfather to Jacob with Pierre Faure? I also believe that Jacob was a grandson to Andrew, but to which son? I will keep probing. Do you live in TN. My husband and I visited Marlin Beatty who lives in Byrdstown. He had lots of info about the Amonettes. Lots of it back to Manakintown, VA and the immigrant Jacob.
Got lots of info in their library.

When I researched the census for TN and smith co, beyond 1850, I found Jacob Amonette according to the 1820 Smith Co census had 5 boys (3under 10yrs of age; 1 16-18; 1 18-26). There is also listed a Parker Amonite in the 1830 census along with Jacob Amonite. He was between the ages of 20-30, with 2 females under 5, 2 of 5-10, and 1 20-30, which was probably his wife. Do you know anything about this group? I believe that there was a Parker Amonette as one of Jacob's (Smith Co)oldest children. Tell me what you think? Here's what I have put together:
Jacob marries Susannah Winfrey 1793:
1)1 daughter married Martin Shoemake (copy of indenture between Jacob and Martin Shoemake concerning two boys Jacob Shoemake and Parker Shoemake) I believe to be grandsons of Jacob Amonite by daughter married to Martin Shoemake.
2)Parker Amonette (1830 census)
3)Male Amonette
4)Susan Amonette d 1841 married Elijah Foutch.
5)Female married to Cornelius Fisher (land transfer)
6)Andrew William d 1860 killed in Civil War
7)James Harvey married Cintha Dedmon
8)John H married Matilda Dedmon
All of this is just supposition. Let me know what you think. Just what I have studied and put together. Would love your input.
Better go. Thanks for you help.
Nancy and Dan
