Mary Ammon/d, daughter of Christopher Ammon/d married (John) Peter Kyger in Rockingham County, Virginia.
Marriage bond dated March 31, 1823.

Bondsmen: Peter Kyger and Henry Pence (John Peter Kyger's half brother-in-law)

Mary died before 1870 in Rockingham County.

I THINK Mary is the granddaughter of Jacob Runkle mentioned in the following court record.

Scots-Irish in Virginia, Vol. 2

CHRONICLES OF THE Scotch-Irish Settlement IN VIRGINIA EXTRACTED FROM THE ORIGINAL
COURT RECORDS OF AUGUSTA
COUNTY 1745-1800
CIRCUIT COURT RECORDS, SECTION "I."
JUDGMENTS.
page 187
Ammon vs. Runkle--O. S. 243; N. S. 85--Will of Jacob Runkle of Rockingham dated 24th April, 1789. Wife,
Mary. Sons and daughters. Sons, Peter, Lewis; grandson, Jacob, son of Peter; daughter, Elizabeth Cislin;
daughter, Catherine Harris; daughter. Mary Amon. Recorded in Rockingham 24th October, 1791. Bill by
Christopher Amon and Mary, his wife. Jacob Runkle died September, 1791, leaving widow and four children
besides oratrix. Elizabeth Ammon, niece of Peter Runkle, deposes. John Haines, grandson of Jacob, deposes.
Jacob Rinehart was Peter Runkle's son-in-law. Mary Ammon, granddaughter of Jacob Runkle, deposes.

---------------
This would mean Mary was born at least by 1791.

The 1810, 1820, and 1830 Rockingham County census has a Christopher Ammon. Although the 1820 census
has a female child that seems to fit Mary's approxiate age, the 1810 census does not.

A Peter Ammon is also listed in the 1810 and 1820 census.

At any rate, I have the descendants of Mary Ammon Kyger but would love to know with certainty who her
parents were. She was my second great-grandmother. Any siblings would be icing on the cake.

Maggie Kyger Miller
