All I know is John B. Dow, b. 07 Dec. 1842 NJ (possibly Somerset Co., NJ); s/o Derick Dow, b. 13 Aug. 1801, NJ and Eliza Bailey, b. 1804, NJ; m. a Ms. Ammerman, unknown where or when. They most likey were m. in Somerset Co. abt. 1864.
I usually add 22 yrs. to get abt. the m. date for a male and 18 yrs. for a female. It gives an estimated date for marriage and 9 times out of 10 I'm close to the date. Dutch customs for marriages are abt. 22 for males and 18 for females when it's time to marry.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
