Hello,
I am the son of Ruth Dorothy Birch nee Ammerman. Her grandfather was Edwin Porter Ammerman, Edwin had four brothers: Alonzo Bitler, Decatur Wilson, Eldorus Ferendez, Otis Ballard, and two sisters, Isadore and Senora Elisabeth. Their father was a William Oliver Hazard Perry Ammerman, b. 6 March 1814, Milesburg, Centre County, PA. His siblings may have included a Thiel, Nicols, Walter, Abraham, and Daniel.
Their father was a William Ammerman of Centre County, Spring Township, PA, b. 15 or 19 December 1791.
We have no records going any further back and certainly would like to get more information.
From William Ammerman on down, we have a lot of information including pictures. In the flyleaf of a book (1756) we have is written "William Ammerman was born the 15th day of our Lord 1791, Mary Ammerman was born the 31st Day of July in the year of our Lord 1794, John Amerman was born the 23rd Day of January, the year of our Lord 179?, Daniel Amerman was born thirtieth Day of May in the year of our Lord 1798, Hanna Amerman was born the 9 Day of October 1801, Elizabeth Amerman was born 17 March 1806, Joseph Ammerman was born 23 March 1809."
Note that some were spelled with the double "m" in Ammerman and others not. Obviously these were brothers and sisters of William Ammerman.
I am trying to obtain a copy of the book entitled "Descendants of Derick Amerman" by C. Theodore Ammerman as mentioned in a forum by Genee. I would be glad to correspond and share with anyone with connections to any of the names I've provided.
