I have some information concerning Paulus Van Der Beek. The sources are:
17th Century Immigrants to New York Registery, Archives,
which was comprised of NYC Church Records, NYG&B Records, History of New Amsterdam.
I didn't research this myself, it was given to me by a distant cousin, who descends from the same line.
Paulus Van Der Beek
arrived in New Netherland (New Amsterdam) bef. 1644
b. ca. 1623 Bremen, Germany
d. ca. 1680 Gowanus (Brooklyn) NY
spouse was Maria Thomas Badie.
Maria had been married twice before 1st to Jacob Verdon, 2nd to Willem Adriansz Bennet De Cuyper.
Paulus and Maria had six children

2. Conrad Van Der Beek bapt. Sept 1 1647
m. ca. 1670 Elsje Jans Straats / Schaers ( conflicting information on last name)

Paulus was originally a farmer in Bremen, Germany. He went to Curacao, where he was a surgeon for the Dutch West Indies, and then to New Amsterdam and was a farmer on Long
Island.
He moved into the Bennet house in Brooklyn, where he was the first doctor/surgeon for the small community, He maintained a large, prosperous farm, and practiced his medical profession
