Hi Amy. Sorry, I started the Amedei forum, but haven't checked on it for a couple of years. I was researching the Biondi's and Amedei's from Fiumalbo, Modena, Italy and the Passoni's from Riolunata, Modena, Italy just up the road from Fiumalbo in a northern Mountainous area of Italy. They say it is beautiful but poor. Lucia Biondi Amedei and Maria Biondi Passoni were sisters. Lucia's husband was Guiseppe Amedei. I have found that the Italian naming tradition is alway present in Italy. Each child in the family, when they marry and have children the first son and daughter are named after the paternal grandparents. The next son and daughter are named after the maternal grandparents. So there may be 8 children, more or less and each of these 8 children might have a first or second son named Guiseppe. So I would assume that your Guiseppe and Lucia's Guiseppe are cousins. Lucia and Guiseppe had Sevina, Lawrence, Quido, Nellie, Laura. Sevina and Laura are the only ones that had children. I know Sevina married an Art Grandi they had 2 daughters.
