The following was given to me by a great-granddaughter of Leander Amick.
Leander was the son of Phillip Amick and Margaret Brower, born in Randolph County, North Carolina on 11 October 1809.He came to Howard County, Missouri with his father. He married (1) Eliza Cooper on 27 February 1834 (Howard County Mariage Records,Book 2, page 2) and (2) Melissa Lampton on 22 October 1851 (Cooper County Marriage Records, Book C page 46).
Records given me show that Leander had 5 children:
Alonzo Cooper Amickb. 26 November 1853.He married Alice Gray Moore on 8 March 1881 and died 8 August 1903.
Peyton Adams Amickb. 6 December 1856 in Howard County. He married Mary Douglas on 5 March 1890 and died 19 April 1935 in Inglewood, LA, Calif.
Eugene E. Amickb.12 March 1858.He maarried Lulu Lampton on 15 March 1882 and died 25 June 1937
Ada May Amick b. 1 December 1860 in Cooper County. She married Will A. Betteridge on 22 October 1890 and died 17 June 1951.
Dora Forest Amickb. 29 January 1864.She married Robert Diltz on 3 November 1886 and died 6 November 1901.
Leander died 8 December 1880 and is buried in the Concord Cemetery in rural Cooper County.Melissa died 30 September 1900.Leander's father, Phillip, was born 25 June 1784 in Randoply County, North Carolina, the son of John and Christina Amick. He died March 27, 1867 in Cooper County, Missouri.
I do not know if Leander had children by his marriage to Eliza Cooper.
