Hi Carolyn & Valerie.

I am researching my family tree and I have come to a stop with the Amey family from Steep and Petersfield.

My Grandmother was Florence Amey born in Sydenham Kent (1898). I have traced the movements of branches of the family through Sussex and Kent. However as I said before I have become stuck with the family at James Amey born in Steep (1816). I believe that there is many Amey's from this part of the world and I can not piece the picture together.

The other definite Amey names that I have from Hampshire are:

Alfred - 1862
Thomas - 1852
Ellen - 1848
William - 1843
John - 1840

I have several other names that I need to place.

The Amey's that I have pieced together are the descendants of William (1843) - in Sydenham, Kent and John, the policeman, (1840) - West Sussex.

Are you able to provide me with any information so I can trace my roots further.

Thanks
Tony Gibbs
