Jon: I read your message and I believe you and I might be onto something. My husband's grandfather was Jesse (or Jessie) Amerson and he had one brother named Evans Amerson (?). This particular Evans married Rosie Adella Connoway and they had a lot of kids but I've only found out about one of them and his name was William Clarence Amerson b. 10/17/1898 and he married Effie Lucille Waldrop on 12/17/1921 in Columbus, GA and their children were Edward Tommy Amerson, William Lee Amerson, Virginia Lott, and John Henry Amerson. However, I have found my husband's grandfather married Effie Norris and on their marriage license he was listed as Jesse Emmerson. What a coincidence? Where do you live. We live in McDonough, Georgia and the Amerson name here is spelled AMERSON. However, I bet we connect somewhere. I just wish I had started my search earlier before Effie Norris Amerson died. My husband says his g/father was a quite person and never talked about his family - he was born in 1872 or 1875 in Pike County, GA. My husband remembers hearing talk about the original Amerson's came from Norway and Sweden. I found a site that gave a history on the name of Amerson on MyGenForum and it was spelled many different ways. Does any of the above names ring a bell? Let me hear from you and thanks for responding.
