There may be more information on the Internet, but I haven't done much to find it as genealogy is not my primary interest.You can get information by going to Nova Scotia at the Public Archives in Halifax and at the College of Saint Anne at Church Point.I do not know if they would respond to a mail request.I could find nothing more about Freeman except the 1901 census.I wouldn't be too sure that the Ella mentioned there is your Ella.You might trying to do a search under "Acadia" or "Acadienne."The University of Moncton is in New Brunswick.It has published a lot of material on the Acadians.There is going to be a worldwide conference of Acadian descendants in Nova Scotia (I think in 2003).There should be something about that on the Internet.
