Hi Sue, Thanks for your message. I would be interested in knowing who you had spoken to with regards to my husbands father (Peter William Amero), as we have spoken to 2 of his brothers Manford-living in Digby, and Leo-living in Parksville, BC, and they both say that 'Willy' (as they used to call him) was their oldest sibling. I have a copy of what I was told was my husbands fathers birth certificate, and it lists him as William James Amero, yet the copies of his pension cheques and of the marriage license that i have list him as William Peter, so I really don't know what his given name was. The other siblings also have differing recolections of what their mothers' maiden name was, with one saying it was Barnes and the other saying it was Melanson. I'm very confused!!!!! I had heard of the brother Lawrence(Lorne), but one of the siblings recalled not a brother named Lawrence, but a sister named Laura that had passed away young, so I thought perhaps they were one and the same person, but didn't know which one it was. Do you know any thing more about the Amero family reunion that is supposed to happen in Nova Scotia in 2004? I would love to go, but I would like to have a little more of a connection to some other people before we set out on that trip. I'm really new at this geneaology stuff and I really don't know all the areas to tap into to find out about information available to me,plus I've really been working on my husbands mothers side of the family which is a complete mystery and very frustrating. I look forward to hearing from you again. Maybe we will find a connection between our families. Take care, Diane!
