James Adams Sr. b. 1730 Goochland Co. VA d. Mar. 15, 1789 Fluvanna Co. VA did't participate in the American Revolution as a soldier. His son, James Adams, Jr. b. Oct. 10, 1753 Albemarle Co. VA d. 1835 Elbert Co. GA did participate in the American Revolution. He enlisted as a Private at Williamsburg, VA, serving in the 10th VA Regiment, 2nd Brigade under the Continental Army's 5th Division. He would later transfer to the 6th VA Regiment in Sept. 1778.
James Adams, Sr. didn't die in GA.In fact, I don't believe he ever came to GA.His two sons, James, Jr. and Thomas came to Elbert Co. GA in 1797 following James, Jr.'s son, William Henry Adams, who had already moved to Elbert Co. GA.
