Just to let you know that I am researching Hessian soldiers of the American Revolution,
and have some books out, one with about 4200 names in Canada, one with 190 names in Upper Canada, one with 235 names in Nova Scotia,
and a Guide which contains about 3000 names
of such Hessians who may have settled or have
descendants in the U.S. of America. In total
it is estimated that there were about 6000
men of the German auxiliary troops who remainedin North America after the American Revolution, and we know of many who actually
returned here after their release in Germany.
There is a very active mail list with Rootsweb anyone searching for a suspected Hessian ancestor should join.
