I am sharing information on Drury(Drewery) Harrington(1752-1839) my 4th Paternal Great -Grandfather.From variou sources at Rootsweb I have he enlisted in 1776.He was at the First Southern Battle. The Battle of Moores Creek Bridge. Served Captain Alexander Clark/Col Sexton NC. 1779 SC Capt Montgomery/Col Stein 1780 Gen Sumpter.Fought at The Battle of Cowpens. Battle of Hanging Rock,Kings Mountain,Black Stock.Under Col Farr/Gen Pickens at the Siege of Augusta.
In Mutrie Jane clark's book "Colonial Soldiers of the South 1732-1774) on Page 814 he was part of Captain Stephen Poe's Company from Chatham County,NC. There are two other Harringtons and to Petty's 9Drury's Wife's last name was Petty.
His DAR # is A051371 and Pension # is S6979. Please let me know if you find anything else.
