Captain Joseph Robson

Good Evening Everyone

I am tracing Captain Robson. He was a Captain in the Minute Company, Maryland, USA c.1777. There are a number of records on the net making reference to various actions of him.

In his company there was a John Stafford. John's mother was Mary Robson who is a sister of Captain Robson.

I have come across a Joseph Robson b. 1742 in Maryland in 2-3 family trees on Ancestory giving his parents as John Robson and Sara Mace. This Joseph also has a sister Mary. Unfortunately I cannot find any confirming birth records.

I have written to the tree owners however regretfully no response thus far.

My instinct is that this is the wrong family - I cannot really say why.

Does anyone know where I could find the enlistment records of Captain Joseph Robson that may confirm or reject my suspicions.

Thanks for looking at this.

Regards

Chris
