The Draper Manuscripts have been extensively copied and are typically available at large public libraries either in book format or on microfilm. They contain extensive records about "The Kings Mountain Men." I checked www.footnote.com for Revolutionary War records for your John Fagan. The only thing I found was one entry for a Virginia regement listing John Fagan.
