Theres a Luther Evarts in New Brunswick in the Loyalist lists...

But Gilbert is not there.

However in you have documentation of what he did you can apply to have him added.

My Secord family who were Loyalists were 3 brothers and their sons who went out to PA to farm.

Their other brothers and BIL and cousins back in New Rochelle, NY were patriots/rebels and fought on the American side.

My De Forests of Albany were both Loyalists and Patriots, while their cousins back in New Jersey, and CT were rebels.

Unfortunately many families were split on politics and loyalities due to geography and circumstance.
