I went back and checked date I posted original query on this forum, it was a week before I left for Salt Lake City. I did it quick in hopes of finding someone who knew something about the family of Benjamin Rice.
I went to the Rice forum and Bedford Co, VA forum and you're right I didn't post there. But, it's posted now. This is why genealogists benefit from "sharing" with other researchers, sometimes we just over look stuff. LOL
I currently have six families in Colonial time period of Henry Co, VA, and I have a slight problem keeping them sorted as I try to focus on one family at a time. I finally had to do a "family tree" for Franklin Co, VA (formed from Henry Co.) My Jones family on Pigg River and Standefer family on the Blackwater River didn't move, but were in so many counties I had to keep county formation dates straight.
I have nothing on my Daniel Rice prior to his buying and selling land in Henry Co, VA, and am trying to tie him to at least one of Rices in the area. I've done a light search on land records, went through tax records and in the future will tackle probate records.
When I first started I didn't know about my 3rd gr grandfather Rice, let alone 4th gr grandfather Daniel Rice. As with most genealogical research it just takes time and persistence.
