James Hayner........
Posted by: Rod Haynor (ID *****2974) Date: August 26, 2010 at 10:31:19

I am hoping to find leads on James Hayner, born about 1749, place unknown, though suspected as New York State. It seems likely that he was a Revolutionary War veteran, though I have not seen him listed, so am looking for leads/clues as to how to track his possible involvement.

Also, he seems have to have lived in South Carolina at one point, but by his mid-50's he was residing in Kentucky, where he lived on a tract of land of between 300 and 400 acres on Hayner's Run of Beech Fork just above Prather's Creek near Springfield, county seat of Washington County, Kentucky. He died on February 12, 1849. Wife's name may have been Catherine and marriage may well have been in South Carolina. Children included John.....listed as born in South Carolina, Solomon, Mary, and Catherine. Later descendants of this family resided in Iowa and Missouri.
