unfortunately the index included in Footnote is not as complete and comprehensive as the index in the Virgil White Books. The spelling could be Lamond, Lamonde, Lemond or Lemonde but I am assured Ambrose Lemonde is listed in that index. I realize his affidafit is not proof of anything, but if I can research the regiments he claims to have been part of and find his name listed I will know for sure. That is really what I want to do, get an idea where to look to prove his service and if it is legitimate, find all the details possible.

Thanks!
