Patriots of Federick County, Maryland Book

Hi,

Recently I learned that my cousin, Jacob Houck(s)/Haux was paid due to military service, in December 1779.-This is stated in the book known as Patriots of Frederick County, Maryland. I was wondering if the book would reveal more about Jacob's service (ie, regiment, service dates, militia or regulars...) His brother Mathias Houck served in the Flying Camp, under Henry Hardman. Thankfully I was able to obtain this data from the DAR itself. Although I wonder if Mathias is in this book also. -I don't know anything more about Mathias's service either, but would like to find out.

Do states have inter-library loan? ie, Can one order books in one state, but live in another?

I'm sure the information is around somwhere. If both were in the military, there should be records. Jut a mtter of where to search!

I appreciate the help,

Stefan
