I didn't find a DAR record for John Willard, which doesn't mean he didn't participate in war. No woman applied for membership under his name.

However, I did find the following:

Willard, John Peter Ancestor #A125765
Service: PA. Rank: Private.
Birth: 2-2-1745 Switzerland.
Death: 8-15-1821 Dauphin Co., PA.
Service source: PA Arch, 5th Ser, Vol 7, PP 409,528.
Service: Lancaster Co., Militia, Capt. Martin Weaver, Col. John Rogers.
Residence: Lancaster Co., PA.
Spouse: Magdelena Jury.
Children through whom women joined the DAR:
Samuel/Catherine
Adam/Sarah Reisch
Peter/Catherine Hoffman.

Marilyn
