According to Heitman's Register of Continental officers:

Harrison, Benjamin (Va). Captain 13th Virginia, 16th December, 1776; regiment designated 9th Virginia, 14th September, 1778; was in service in 1780; retired 12th February, 1781, with rank of Major.
