Dear Ruth,
Just when I think my genealogy is dead something pops up. I young man found me on the web and yes, I had tons of information on his surname Hunstable. Recall Thomas Hunstable was listed in 'Tea Leaves' as being in the Boston Tea Party. He located a reference to Thomas Hunstable in someone's thesis on munitions during Early American wars. The source was Mass. Archives - Thomas Hunstable of Boston was hired by Quartermaster Smith to ferry armaments over the Connecticut River. This is irrefutable Patriotic service if I wanted to do another supplemental.
But what I wonder is why Smith of Springfield, MA would contact Hunstable of Boston? You would think he you get sometime who lived closer to the 'crossing.' Also I think (1778) Boston was occupied by the British. I will get the records and see if there is anything else which wasn't put in the thesis.
I am sending this nice young man Bible Records, Cemetery Records, all my related charts and documents.
I gather I should Google more often as items are added daily.
Cheers!
Sherry
