Boston Tea Party
Boston Tea Party
DAR only accepts some doddering 80 year old recollection of who was there. It can be proven he had errors – like Paul Revere was NOT there. That is the only source they accept for membership.
There is a 1850’s book called Teas Leaves. It was written from sources from descendants.
I have ancestor in Tea Leaves. His father was the bell ringer (Town Records) in the church that the lantern was displayed by Paul Revere. He was a ‘fireman’(Town Records)but resigned (Town Records) after the British took Boston. He is just the type of ornery cuss that would have dressed up as an Indian and dumped tea in the harbor.
I have no desire to fight with DAR. I already have 10 proven ‘patriots.’ But this guy, Thomas Hunstable, is up there on my list of good guys.
Does anyone else have ancestor who ‘may’ have been with those rowdy Indians?
