One hope is that Berks County Court records would mention him in the context of some militia matter. Also often wives of soldiers, if they were 'away,' applied to the County for relief (support) for themselves and children.
If the soldier were involved in some militia activity resulting in damage to or loss of personal equipment (rifle, bayonet, horse, etc.) he would petition the County for reimbursement, or even petition the Supreme Executive Council in Philadelphia for same.An appreciable amount of such matters appear in the First Series of the published Pennsylvania Archives.
The Pennsylvania Archives in Harrisburg has much more material on the Rev. War than has been published, as well.Their web site has a useful rundown of holdings, but no indexes have been published for the whole of the material. It's definitely worth a look, and possibly a trip.
Good hunting,
