Gayle,
The age discepancy comes from the original tombstone still standing in the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Muhlenberg Co. which says Andrew GLENN July 23, 1842, aged 90 years and the D.A.R. stone adjacent which says Andrew GLENN, Capt Littles Co, Revolutionary War, 1754-1842.
As Andrew stated in his letter; "I was born in Ireland in the County of Antium, came to the U.S.A. when very young.I have no record of my age".
If Andrew GLENN himself was unsure of his exact birthdate, then a slight discrepancy in various records is to be expected.
I posted the letter for the enjoyment of those interested in the Revolutionary War and the individual accounts of their experiences. I suppose if I ever get around to sending for my Greatgrandmother's death certificate and a couple of other documents, I'd join the D.A.R., but right now I'm just enjoying the genealogy.I just found information/documentation that gives me my 5th Rev. War grandfather, Samuel Culbertson!
It was nice of you to take the time to reply.
Sandra Lewis
