Wilson, William, NC Line, wife Nancy, W1116, soldier was born in Rowan Co., NC and he lived there at enlistment and about 1815 or 16 he moved to Rutherford Co. TN and died there 14 Aug 1817 soldier married Nancy "Ann" d/o James Trott of Rowan Co., NC on 5 March 1785. Children; James 2nd child was born 5 Fb 1788 and made aff'dt in 1838. The oldest child (not named) was born 23 months prior to James. It was stated 2 sons fought in the War of 1812 under Gen. Jackson. Soldier's brothers Samuel died at Fort Strother, and the other was wounded in a battle with the Indians. Soldier's brothers Samuel who died prior to 1838 and John Wilson, both srv in Re. and soldier's brother John was killed in the Rev. but never rec'd pension (their relationship to William Wilson was not given). Soldier's widow had 4 nephews in the War of 1812 of which 1 was killed at the battle of Horeshoe Bend and 1 was killed Fort Stroter while the other 2 were at the Battle of New Orleans with 1 being taken prisoner and the other being wounded at said battle (the nephew not named).
