There is a small village in Montgomery Co. Pa., called "Trappe".It is located on what is now rt. 422.At one time is was called the "Old Germantown Pike" because it was a direct link to Germantown and Philadelphia. It is located next to Collegeville,Pa, home of Ursinus College. The entire southeast corner of Pa. is loaded with history and we are neighbors to Valley Forge.Trappe is closer to Valley Forge than Philadelphia. It is at least twenty to thirty miles from Phila.
Trappe does have a Historical Society located on rt. 422, I believe near rt. 113.It may be worth your while to look into what they have.
Hope this helps in your search.
