Richard, Hopefully, this might help: According to The Ambler Family by Louis Ambler, written in 1927, there was:
Richard Ambler b 24 Dec 1690, bap 4 Jan 1691, St. Michael's York, settled at Yorktown, VA in 1716, m 1729, Elizabeth d/o Edward Jaquelin. He d. 1765; she d 1756
They had 8 children but will see if you think this is your line before sending this information.
Richard's father was John Ambler, Sheriff of York 1727-8;
m. 18 May 1682 at Kippax, Elizabeth, d/o Richard Bickerdike, of Roach, near Kippax. John was bur. 1738; Elizabeth, bur. 24 jun 1752
John's father was Mark Ambler d. 1731-32
John had a brother, Mark Ambler m. 4 May 1731, Anne Dove in St. Michael's, York.
