Hi Heather: If he is your relative his father would be Bill Ambler and they quite possibly lived in Missouri. He was quite famous for riding in the various stampedes. He was renown for being a rider at the Calgary Stampede and when I attended the Stampede in the 70's his name was mentioned. My mother told me he was quite dark complexioned
with a very wiry type build and he loved to dance. His sister Claire had red hair. This was just typical of this family as what I can figure out the father of Bill and my grampa had red hair but the mother was a mixture of French and Indian, so some were very dark others light colouring.
I will tell you why I think your great-grandmother may have been raised by an aunt and uncle is because Jerry and his wife were travelling to the Madison Square Gardens for a show and were killed in an automobile accident. If you can tell me more info on the aunt and uncle maybe I can figure this out with other family members to help. Likely better to mail me at my e-mail. Barb
