You may want to see if there is a mormom church in your area as they have lots of information for you.
I understand that years back the d' was dropped from our name.
My grandfather was Giacomo Amato from Carini sicily however i have no idea where his uncles aunts brothers or sister move around in sicicly or the booth of italy.
other names in my family are: Giordano Benvenga, Longo, Alesci, Petrone, Schillage (Schillesci) Gaeta, di Bouno
