I had some research done in Germany and was able to track down my info on my grandfather. Thought I would pass it along in case it coincides with any of the other Amann lines on this board.
My grandfather was Karl Georg Julius Amann (known as Julius) b. March 6, 1860 in Ludwigsburg; immigrated to USA in 1875 (to San Antonio, TX), died 1902.
His father: Julius Johann Jackob Mattaus Amann, b 7/20/1830 in Stuttgart. Married Emma Fredericke Jager. He was the Regimental Horse Doctor for the Royal Artillery.
His father: Mathaus Amann b 9/21/1802 in Geislingen. Married Johanna Barbara Kuhlwein. Veterinary Surgeon for the Royal Stable.
His father: Simon Amann b. 10/28/1768 in Geislingen. Married Theresia Schlaich. Farmer on a Noble estate.
His father: Johann Georg Amann b 9/03/1729 in Geislingen. Married Catharina Koch. Day Laborer.
His father: Georg Amann b. 04/03/1683 in Geislingen. He married Catharina Schlaich. Peasant Farmer.
His father: Johannes Amann born 1655 in Geislingen. Married Barbara Haug.
I have a lot of other dates if there is anyone on this board who might have a connection to this family. I would enjoy hearing from you.
