Diane, I don't have information on your specific ancestor but these surnames sounded familiar to me. I have ancestors that came fron Bavaria in the 1850's (ACKERMANN,SCHERER) and finally traced them to a village. I have a Franziska AMANN who d. in 1835. Looking at my paperwork I found that the surmane BOEHM also occurs in that area. If you do not know where they came from, try looking at the village of Lingenfeld. In the 1850's it was located in Bavaria but is no longer part of Bavaria. It is now in the Pfalz area. The Family History Library has the Catholic church records for Lingenfeld on Film#'s 367415, 367497, and 367499. I believe that they also have the Lutheran records but don't know those film #'s.
