Dear Al,
I saw your message, our family were merchants and manufacturers in Bristol in the 18-19th centuries. George/Frederick/Henry seemed popular names and we have traced back to 1628, do you have any leads further back. A general search goes back to the Doomsday book, but my cousin in Deniliquin...since passed on did considerable research and told me that our name or variations thereof precede the book. Apparently we were of Angle stock, not to be confused with Anglo. Any further advice would be appreciated.

John Alway, Doncaster, Australia
