Hello,

Walter Seymour Allward, Canadian sculptor, also designed the Citizens' War Memorial in Peterborough, Ontario. It is a dramatic and stunning monument - designed in the early 1920s at the same time as Allward was working on Vimy.

We are always looking to Allward information and to contact his relatives.

The City Archives in Peterborough holds the original records of the construction of the local memorial.

Queen's University Archives in Kingston, ON holds most of Allward's personal papers.

Thanks,

Jim Leonard
City Archivist
