I am searching for information on the family of Luther ALWARD and Emeline PAYNE of Crawford County, Pennsylvania. The families of both Luther and Emeline were probably from New Jersey, and both families spent time in New York state before ending up in Crawford County, Pennsylvania.
Luther ALWARD was born May 1816 in New York, and died February 21, 1903. Both of his parents were born in New Jersey. He married Emeline PAYNE about 1836, daughter of James PAYNE and ELIZABETH Carlyle. She was born August 1815 in Pennsylvania, and died May 30, 1906.
Some children of Luther ALWARD and Emaline PAYNE are (probably at least 7 children total):
1) Harriet ALWARD.
2) Elizabeth Ann ALWARD, b. February 09, 1839, Pennsylvania; d. August 14, 1926, Spring Township, Crawford County, PA; m. Loren Matthias BLYSTONE, August 22, 1861; b. August 23, 1837, Venango Township, Crawford County, PA; d. March 27, 1921, Hayfield Township, Crawford County, PA.
3) James W. ALWARD, b. February 1849, Pennsylvania; m. Nancy, about 1882; b. July 1862, Pennsylvania.
4) Frank E.. ALWARD, b. September 1852, Pennsylvania; m. Mary, about 1885; b. August 1854, Pennsylvania.
