Patty-- This is what I have.Friedrich & Caroline Ernestine (Schon) Alves, Sr. are known to have been the parents of seven children: Friedrich (Fritz) Jr., Wilhelm (William in English), Conrad, Johanne Christine, August Adolphine, Mina Louise and Karl Heinrich Georg.
Wilhelm Alves born circa 1837 married Pauline Fischer 1858 Hortontown, born May 21, 1841. Their children were-Wilhelm Carl Friedrich Gus, Emil, Klara Mina, Hulda, Edda, Lidia, Alfred, Ella.
In 1861, Wilhelm along with his elder brother, Fritz, joined Hortontown's Light Cavalry, Comal Horse Guard, which was organized by Theodor Podewills.
Wilhelm Carl Friedrich Gus Alves born August 31, 1860. Emil Alves born March 10,1862, Klara Mina Alves born Feb. 13,1864, Hulda Alves born July 16, 1866, Edda Alves born Dec. 24, 1868, Lidia Alves born Aug. 20, 1871, Alfred Alves born March ?, 1874 and Ella Alves born Aug. ? 1876. Patty this what I have so far. I haven't been able too find out anything else about William or his wife Helen Alves Wittig.
When and if I can find any more I'll let you know.
