I am searching for more information on Alexander ALVES b 1778-1781, of Forres Moray Scotland.
Alexander married Janet McHATTIE on Dec 17 1805 in Edinkillie Moray Scotland. Janet was christened Jul 24 1781 in Logiebuchnie Moray, the daughter of James McHATTIE and Helen GIBB.
Alexander and Janet arrived in Canada in 1833 eventually settling in Westminster Township in 1834-35.
They had 6 children: John, Helen, James, Alexander, William, Janet.
My husband's family are descended from their daughter Helen ALVES (b Jan 9 1809 in Forres) who married Alexander KERR on May 3 1829 in Dyke Moray.
Does anyone out there recognize or connect with these families??
