hello Kathleen, I'm FAUSTO, son of Trajano Alvarado who from ECUADOR. My dad burnt in April 30th 1935 in Ambato city. He came to Brazil about 30 years ago n'married with my Mom in 1974. His father was Jose Alvarado Cruz who lived in Ecuador all his life. There are many, many relatives from Jose's sons. Some years ago I got the information that one of the estabilishers of the Peru's country was someone with the last name of ALVARADO. Don't hesitate to comunicate with me in case of any doubt.Regards
