Hi. I'm new to this forum but am very interested in discovering the origins of my last name. I understand that Spanish Conquistador, Pedro de Alvarado, took over the San Salvador region in 1525 and am assuming that I am related to him directly.
I am planning a trip to Spain for next year and would like any help as far as places to go, people to talk to, libraries, museums, anything that will assist me in tracing back Pedro de Alvarado's origins within Spain.

If anyone has any information about Alvarados in El Salvador or has done their own research on Pedro de Alvarado in Spain and can help me out, please email me.
