I hope this information well help. My greatgrand father was Usebio Alvarado from Barcelona,Spain. He had 2 brother the oldest was Pedro Alvarado and the other brother was Lorenzo. Two stories exist as to which sea port they came through. One of the stories is that the 3 brother reach a South American port and then ventured north passing through Mexico. Pedro stayed in Mexico: became a prominent citizen there. In fact, the family claims that Pedro discovered a rich gold depositand offered to pay Mexico's debt to the United States. Pedro Alvarado's income put at $200,000. a month.(Denver-Times August 11,1901. Pg.15) I hope this helps I have a book with some information about the Alvarado's. If this helped let me know and I'll sent some more information your way. Hope to hear from you. Oh by the way my father has the Alvarado crest, he is making a copy for me I'll sent you a copy as soon as I get it. God bless Romona (mona)
