Looking for information on William M. Alton, born about 1803 Newberry Co. South Carolina. He moved to KY in ?, married Ellender Davis in Trigg Co., KY on December 11, 1828. They moved to Hardin Co. TN, census 1840 and 1850. They moved back to KY, Calloway Co. KY, 1860 and 1870 census. Died in Calloway Co. before 1880 census at about 77 years of age.
What I need to know is how do I find out where he is buried. His son David is buried in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Henry Co. TN. There are two marker just north of David's gravestone with the letters WMA and ??A stamped (the second marker has been damaged over the years) is hard to make out. The Church has been closed for years where would I check for records of these burials.
This is my family, David H. Alton is my great great grandfather. Two of his sons are buried there Columbus (Lum) and B. Franklin (Frank) Alton. My great grandfather Joseph (Joe) Alton is buried in La Follette, TN. My grand parents are Ed Gilbert Alton and Hazel Marie Heaton buried in Murray mem. cem. Murray, Ky.
Thanks for any help you can give.
