I am just beginning tracing my roots down. I know my family was from Suttons, SC.
My father (Nickolas Hagwood Altman Jr. ) swears his grandfather's name was William Emmit Altman. I see so many listings on here its hard to determine where I belong.
I have been to the cemetary 'downhome' and saw so many graves at that tiny church.
Names I grew up around were
Theron Altman
Eston Altman
Nickolas Altman
Aunt Sarah
( and about 10 other brothers and sisters )
Stephen and I are the last of our branch (Nickolas Hagwood ) with no hopes of having any further Altman children. I would like to see how far I can track it.
Where to begin ???
Im planning a trip downhome to check out the cemetary, now that I am older.
