Dear Rhonda,
Yes, Wilma Altevogt Barker is related to the Witt, Irving, Il Altevogt's. Will check my data at home, as I am at work at Memorial Hospital at this time. I am an RN traveling from Des Moines, Iowa to Springfield, Il. We are natives of Montgomery County, Il until 2001, when my husband went through his second plant closure in Decatur, Il. We both have been living in Des Moines since 2003. Have been working with Freida Altevogt on a big Altevogt project and for the life of me, can't remember who Wilma's parents were, but I think she was Casper William and Cora (Caulk) Altevogt's daughter, but not real sure, till I check my data at home. Will soon start putting the data I have collected on this site, to help other researchers. Wanting to have an Altevogt Reunion at Freida Altevogt's on June 12, 2006. There is a reason for that date. Freida Altevogt gave me a photo to copy of an old photo, dated June 12, 1912 and it is entitled The Witt Hunting and Fishing Club. In this photo are 3-4 generations of Altevogts. My great grandparents and great, great grandparents are in it. Oh, I do know that I have a copy of Wilma Altevogt Barker's obit, so will bring it to work tonight and type the info her for you to get. Will e-mail again tonight.
Your cousin
Barb (Hays) Clayton RN
