I have a John Rutledge Smith Alston in my family tree. Hope he is the same one. I show his wife as Margaret Susan Pemberton but I show different children. I show John born March 17, 1835 in Waccamaw, SC. Margaret was born 1835 also. They were married December 22, 1857 in Platte County, MO. John died August 27, 1912 in Roswell, NM. Margaret died March 28, 1920 in Roswell, NM. I show their children as Benjamin Berg Alston born June 25, 1869, Charles Stewart Alston born May 4, 1871, and Catherine P. Alston vorn 1874. If you think they might be the same let me know. I have alot of ancestors.
