Have recently found info on Alston family residing in Muskogee, OK between 1902(before statehood) and 1960s. There are 10 burials at the Green Hill Cemetery, all purchased by one Allen Newton Alston. Names of family buried there are as follows: Peter B. (1844-1913), *Mattie A. (1855- 1924), Valeria Eva (1885-1949), Lee (d.1902), Etta Mae Dunn King (d.1986), O.T. King (d.1967), Velira Yockum Crossland (1938-1940). *Mattie A. ALSTON applied for Confederate widows pension while residing in OK according to index at the Oklahoma Historical Society. Anyone know of this ALSTON/KING/CROSSLAND group? There is another person buried amongst them with the name EVERAGE. They seem to be connected to family of Cicero ALSTON from Smith and Wood county TX (1870s).
