I am trying to trace the Williams line in NC, Edgecombe and Halifax Counties. We have a daughter of Elisha Williams b1746,who is Elizabeth "Betsy" Williams b1778 marrying an Alston. We've not been unable to confirm but THINK that Elisha's Father was Williams Williams. Elisha was born in Halifax Co, NC and married a Sarah Josey on 24 Mar 1775. Know anything more that might help us to push this Williams line back or verify it? I'll certainly try to get my hands on the Grove's book that you speak about to see how the two lines: Williams and Alston seem to entertwine.
