Couldn't e-mail to your address so will include abbreviated report here. If your 1730 date is reasonably solid, Amy's father had to have been eithe Joseph John Alston (1702-1781) or brother Solomon Alston (1706-17??). They were ONLY Alstons in NC at time who were old enough to have been married by 1730. Have more info. on family if you want it.

John Richard Bobbitt appears to have been the son of John Bobbitt and Sarah Green wo settled at Occoneechee Neck in Bertie precinct NC in 1718. They were neighbors there of Edward Clark who is from my line. Many of the early Occeneechee Neck settlers were Chickesaw and Cherokee Indian traders including John Bobbitt's father-in law. Drop me an e-mail at dougtucker@erols.com if you want more info. on these folks.
