The IGI shows that a John Thompson married Aug 19, 1819 in Butler Co., OH to Susanna Alston(?) born Feb 10, 1801, died Jan 22, 1880, Stuart, Guthrie Co., IA, buried Riverside (Spillers) Cem., Dallas Co., IA. No proof but it appears to fit.
Norman needs parents for both John Thompson and Susanna Alston. Their children were: Jacob Thompson born c1821 OH m Susan; David Thompson b c1827 VA m Sarah Cave born OH; Isaac Thompson born 1825 OH d 1892 Guthrie Co., IA m Logan Co., OH to Jane Helton b1828 WV d1898 Stuart, IA; Elizabeth Susan Thompson born c1825; Mary Thompson b Logan Co., OH 1840 m Cam Ayers; Emma Thompson; John Thompson b1837 m Rebecca Godwin.
